Feeling Nostalgic... for the 90s? What? I Need Help...

Poll time!

What songs would you put on an ultimate 90s music CD? The first person to say MmmBop by Hanson gets smacked upside the head.

I think Janna must be thinking of hit me baby one more time by Spear Britney.

"Tubthumping" by Chumbawamba.

"It's the End of the World" by REM.

"All Aplogies" by Nirvana. (Yeah, it's Nirvana, but it has some really cool guitar.)

"If I Had a Million Dollars" by the Barenaked Ladies

"All Star" by Smash Moth

"One Headlight" by the Wallflowers.

"The Freshmen" by the Verve Pipe.

And so on.

Grunge has been underrepresented here. Too bad for grunge, eh? (I like some grunge myself, but I'm not going out of my way to represent it.)

U2 released Achtung Baby, one of their best albums, in the 90s. So... "One"? It's a good song, after all.

"Fly Away" by Lenny Kravitz should probably make the list as well. It is a staple, after all.

I heard "Lightning Crashes" by Live twice in the car today. So that should go on as well. Because I heard it twice. In one day.

Someday we'll view the 90s like we do the 80s - as a necessary evil.

As for the rest of you - good suggestions... for the most part. :-D

I have to say I'm disappointed no one has suggested Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls or Time of Your Life by Green Day. Also, I see no Coldplay (not even "Clocks"?) or Alanis Morisette (come on, you know you all love "Ironic"!).

Come, come, chickens. We surely have more ideas than this!

Mark said...

Uh... "Clocks" is post-90s, actually. Radiohead was big back then, so I suppose you could throw one or two of their songs on there. Since they're also British. And stuff.

How about "No Rain" by Blind Melon? That's an odd little song. Or "My Own Prison" by Creed. May as well throw "My Hero" by The Foo Fighters on there.

And, of course, "Ice Ice Baby".

Clocks is post 90s? Really? Oh. Well. Never mind then. I thought it was vintage '99. :-)

Also no one suggested any FastBall songs. I'm so disappointed.

there are many, but for me it would be... Babylon Zoo - Spaceman and Korn - Freak On A Leash, , but I guess thats just whats your musical taste is based on.
