What does "suck eggs" really mean? people used to say that when i was younger and i never got it then either. :-P
It is a euphamism, like "go boil you head!" or "just go and sit on a tack, why don't you!?"
Why would one want to suck eggs? I mean, there's a serious threat that it will crack in your mouth in which case you'll be sucking on raw egg. You will then get saminella (sp?) poisioning and die a painful death. Now no one really wants that do they?
