When I was in Paris a few years ago I wanted to check out the catacombs but I didn't have enough time. It came down to see the Palace of Versailles or the catacombs and the Palace won. I mean really, who could give up an oppertunity to walk in the hall of mirrors where King Louis and Hitler have walked?
Not to mention poor old Marie Antoinette who filed through there on her way to the chapel to be married.
Catacomb crawling does not quite compare... but if I had the time, I think I'd read all about the secret gypsy hideouts and go.
